The Air Jordan 4 Retro SE 'Sashiko' (2020) offers a fresh take on one of Jordan Brand’s most iconic silhouettes by blending traditional craftsmanship with modern streetwear appeal. This unique release draws heavily from the Japanese Sashiko stitching technique, known for its intricate patterns and durability. The result is a stunning sneaker that pays homage to both cultural artistry and the timeless design of the Air Jordan 4.
Overview
The Air Jordan 4 Retro SE 'Sashiko' features a striking mix of materials and patterns that echo the essence of Japanese craftsmanship. Its upper combines canvas and denim in various shades of navy and white, forming asymmetrical designs that showcase Sashiko's signature hand-stitched aesthetic. The mismatched patterns on each shoe create a dynamic, one-of-a-kind look, while the translucent rubber outsole adds a modern touch. Subtle red accents on the tongue and heel branding provide a pop of color, tying together the fusion of heritage and innovation. This model also retains the signature Air cushioning for comfort and support, making it as functional as it is fashionable.
Key Highlights
• Japanese Sashiko Inspiration: The sneaker incorporates the traditional Sashiko stitching technique, delivering a design rich in cultural heritage.
• Mixed-Material Construction: Canvas and denim overlays in navy and white, coupled with asymmetric patterns, create a unique, handcrafted look.
• Classic Air Jordan 4 Features: Signature Air cushioning and a rubber outsole maintain the silhouette's performance and comfort, while modern details like translucent elements elevate its streetwear appeal.
